Formal Email

IMG_2676

On the top part of this blog is a photo of a printed email that I wrote to a company, named Zac’s Enterprises asking for an interview. In order for me to notify the owner, I had to tell him how I found out of the companies hiring. I later introduced myself and gave my personal information in order to be contacted by him, if he had any question or concern. Since this is a basic email about an interview, there isn’t that much information to be given but more asked. In an actual email concerning an actual job, you are technically asking about the position you are signing u for. For example cashier, you would do the same thing, introduce yourself, how old you are and give a brief explanation on why you are interested in applying for this job and the reason why you are emailing that person. Listing out your special skills that you may have from either previous work or serving the community can help you convince the owner of the company sometimes. Once you have listed your special skills that could help you on the job, you put down your information, like your phone number, mobile preferable, and your reachable email. After you’ve listed your information, you say your farewell and you put your name, and a thank you at the end.

Budget for Next Year

Assuming I have a part-time job ad I’m freshly out of high school, and I earn $840 a month… how will I survive? Well I will divide my honey in 4th’s which is $210. One of those 210 dollars would go to towards groceries and the basic things I will need in my house, like food that I’m out on and if left over money then something extra. The second $300 will go toward my parents, help them out with whatever then need, third 30 dollars goes to god, since I’m religious. And the rest of the money which is $200 will go to savings account for whenever I am in need for my future career or car, which ever comes first to spend it on. Life would be good, a little too good for a young one who is 17 or 18!

Chapter Reflection: Credit Score

For the basic knows of credit, it’s technically payments throughout the time instead of paying any money being borrowed from the bank all at once. Depending on how much is being taken, it depends on the bank how much they want to charge for interest of the loan. But also depend on how much is being borrowed, for how long, and the purpose of the borrowing. The way credit works after money has been taken out, due to the interest loan that is being charged to you, it’s your responsibility to make sure that your payments are being payed on time. That’s what credit is, building payments on time and having good management on your money. Credit report is another big one as well, because it carries all kind of history that you have with your credit card. That’s another thing that bankers look at, how do you spend your money? Because most bankers don’t lend money to anyone like it’s nothing. They have to be wise on who they are lending it to. The way of getting good credit score is by paying all your main important bills on time, like your mortgage, lending and your auto financing (if you have a car) and mainly having you FICO score balanced. For those who does know what is FICO is, its a company who analysis your money. The way FICOA is set up is by 5 branches. The first branch is your payment history which is 35% of you score, the second one is 15% length of history which is technically a report of any accounts you have and the last activity that has been reported on that account. The third branch is 30% of Amount Owed, technically the account you have & their balances, but if you owe any money on those accounts, then the amount you owe will be noted on there. Fourth branch is 10% of New Credit Inquiries which is new accounts being opened. and the last branch is 10% Type of Credit Held, which is variety being added to your score. And that it for the understanding of Credit Score. After reading this chapter, it opened my eye on how responsible I have to be with my money. Like is it really worth spending my money on something that I want to get? Do I really need it in my life? I’m I going to be useful with it? Will it bring any benefits to my life? Those are the type of questions everyone should be asking themselves everyday when it come to there money. After viewing what the scores are on the FICO system, it’s noticeable that there are some payments that are more important than other, but should all be managed with responsibility. Its always important to be careful with our reputation and how we represent our money, no one wants to be viewed as irresponsible   money waister. We have to take care of our money the same way we have to take care of ourselves! Being wise is the key solution for this type of situation.

Explanation of what credit is & how it works.

How to do Taxes

Being taught something new like filing a taxes form for the second time is quite interesting now actually paying attention to it. On the first picture, it’s the tax form which ask for your first, last name and your social security number. If married then their information goes on the bottom of your information. On the bottom of your partners information would be where you list your address, city, state and zip code. Now for the income part, on the first part of that section it will be asking for your wage, salaries and tips, in my case it would be $36,206. Line number 2 is going to be asking about taxable interest which mine would be $43.00 since I get paid minimal wage payment, and line 3 doesn’t really apply for us because it asks for unemployment compensation and Alaska Permanent Funds. Line 4 you just add line 1-3 and it will adjust gross income. If you are single you only get to pay $10,350 but if married you pay $20,700, don’t really know why exactly, but on line 6 you will be subtracting line 4 income from line 5. If the amount on line 5 is bigger than the amount on line 4 you would just write zero, but if not then the result of the subtraction will end up being your taxable income. Going to the next section Payments, Credits, and Tax, question 7 asks for your federal income tax, which is in your W-2 and 1099 form, mine would be $4,452.00. Question 8a ask if earn income credit, mine is 0, depending on whatever your’s is, you put that amount on there. 8b is for nontaxable combat pay, I haven’t served in the military so I out 0. In line 9 you add line 7 and 8 together and the result you get is your total payments and credit, now for line 10 you would have to get the tax table that you would have and look for your tax, and whatever number is brought up that would be your tax, mine was $3,418.00. Health coverage in line 11, that if you have to pay for it, but if not then put $0 on the line and check off the “full coverage” box if you have full coverage. L12: add line 10 and 11 and that would be your total tax. Line 13 saids if line 9 is larger than line 12, then you will have to subtract line 12 from line 9 and that will be your refund. A little bit under that question, are account questions so they can insert the money back into your bank account, and after that is filled you sign with the date and your occupation.

How to Write a Check

IMG_2662

This is an example of how to write a check to whoever it’s being written out to. Now the first thing what you need to know about this picture is that its fake, obviously for the “NOT A LEGAL CHECK” print on the top right hand corner. On the top left hand corner is where your address would be inserted included with the state, city and zip code from where you are. Below your address, where it saids “TO THE ORDER OF”, on that line you put the name of the person or company you are checking this check out to. In my example I put an old teacher for reference in this fake check so I could show you where to put the information like his name or the company he owns, depending on what your writing the check to. After, the box next to it is where you write down the amount you are paying or giving to the company or owner. Under the line where his name is at, you put the amount you put in the box, but except you are going to write it in letters as shown above. The difference between of just drawing a line to represent the cents and writing it in letters is that you have to put is an actual 0/100, because as mentioned it represents the cents. Once you have that filled out that part out, you go a little bit down where it says “FOR”, and you put down the reason why you are filling out the check. The line next to it is where your signature goes. And that’s how you fill out a check.

Explanation of Wants and Needs

Needs would be defined as goods or services that are required, like food, clothing, shelter and health care. Wants are goods or services that are not necessary but that we desire or wish for. Us mammals, always or most likely would go towards the wants than need because most humans, not all of them, have the basic’s. The people who would go under need, would be homeless, orphans and some single parents or people that are in really bad debt. Most humans on this earth have what are the basic needs, but majority don’t feel satisfied with what they have. Which honestly is a disappointment, including myself. We rather spend money on things we don’t really need, but when it comes to time of “crisis”, we don’t really have the money to spend on it. Sometimes it better to get away from our Wants and go towards the other person’s basic, life worthy Needs. Being a little humble doesn’t hurt. It’s surprising that a human can be humble now a days, due to what society contradicts. We always (including myself) go towards the selfish side instead of being humble, but see thats where society messes up, that where it contradicts itself, because it’s always talking about, being humble and showing compassion for others but in reality it’s always talking about us, you! What YOU think you “NEED” what you need to represent because showing that you don’t really have what you want, makes you look like a failure. And due to that image that society put on, we’re afraid of looking like we don’t have the power of our own decisions, and that’s where we kind of have to explain the difference wants and needs. It’s always or majority of the time, what we want than what we need. We need to be realistic’s with ourselves if we want to survive wisely on this earth, and not be blown away from what society wants us to think. Be Different. Be Wise.

How to fill out a Rent

On the top of the page is a rent form filled out. This is how a rent form is suppose to look like. At first it was a little difficult but later after asking questions, I now understand how to do it exactly. In order for this to be complete you fill out the basic information like your name, SSN, birthday, phone numbers, address, emails, money received a month, and payment for rent. Later more down, it asks if you would be sharing the room with a roommate, and if so, to apply him or her down on the list. It would ask you other questions like if you are going to be bringing a pet, or have any exotic things, sometimes it asks how you heard of the position. Then it goes to financial questions, like what bank you have, the banker that attends you, phone number and where its located, how much income do you receive. Towards the second picture, is the back part of the page. Towards the back, it asked the full name of the banker who attends you, where she is located, the number of her or his department, and the Monthly Pymt. Amt. (Payment Amount). Just in case there were an emergency, you would have to list down the parent or person to call or to go too, so phone and address included. Then goes to your transportation, like list the car you have, what year, what model, and the license number. How much you pay a month and the total fee you have to give and lastly the date and your signature.

In every resume you do, in every position you were in, either in community work, or work, or in whatever you participated in, you would have to list what was your roll. For example, in the very top I listed everything that I am good at and what skills do I have that are handy. Then I listed down where I did my community work, and how long I volunteered there. After, I would list down what were my jobs at the school. For example, when it came to helping the director, I was her right hand when she needed things to be done. Or when there was Hispanic parents, I would be there translator, for both sides because I am bilingual. And after you have listed all your skills, on the very bottom you would list down any achievements or awards you have received. And if you have any other talent that your proud of having you would keep listing till you have nothing else to type.

After High School 2018-2019

Everyone asked me if I would attending college or trade school? My answer is no, no I will not be attending college or trade school. I feel like my future doesn’t really involve in education, generally speaking. Will I be working? Any idea where? How many hours? Anticipated wage? Yes I will be working, either a basic job to help out my parents or stick to making music with my friend. How many hours isn’t a question I’m going to consider, since inspiration doesn’t have a limit.  Where will I be living? Well meanwhile, since i’m freshly out of high school, I would be maintain at my parents house. What will be your transportation situation? If I have to go places and don’t have a lot of money, then I would be taking the bus or ask my mother to please take me to where ever my destination is at. But if I have saved enough money to buy a car then a I would use my car. What goals will you be working towards in terms of education or career? My goal that I would be working towards my career, would be to send a positive, ongoing, strong independent message to all my listeners, saying that they are brave and strong and that they can make it through anything if they really want to get out! What questions or concerns do you have going into adulthood? No questions nor concern, but I just hope I make the right decision at the right times.
